How We Increased Conversion of a High Dollar Cart Program by 220%

We tweaked and optimized a high dollar cart program resulting in a 220% increase in conversions and a 240% boost in revenue.

The Old Approach

The abandoned cart program for a client Autonomous didn’t perform well. They implemented a standard three message cart program. Email one going out one hour after the cart abandonment, email two going out 24 hours and email three going after 48 hours. The 10% discount offer was provided in the second message and wasn’t repeated in the third message.

The New Approach

We expanded the number of emails to 5 over a period of 10 days. The 10% discount offer was included in message 3 and 5.

  1. Email Re-design: InboxArmy’s email production team re-designed the emails with stronger brand recognition.
  2. Copy Improvements: The email copy was improved with clear and compelling messaging.
  3. A/B Testing the Offer: When we tested the email sequence, we found that the revenue and conversion were a little higher with an offer in messages 3, 5 than in messages 2, 3, 5, or message 2, 4, 5.
  4. A/B Testing the Timing: Upon testing the timing of the messages, we found out that 1 hour, 24 hours, 3-days, 7-days, and 10-days produced the best results.

The Result

The new approach implemented by InboxArmy resulted in a 220% increase in conversions and a 240% boost in revenue.
